THE heavy snow over the weekend did not deter six members of the RST Racing Team from getting out for a few hours of alternative training.

The group changed their usual road bikes for their mountain bikes and met at Wharnecliffe Wood in Sheffield.

Gabz Cullaigh said “It was great. Wharnecliffe Wood is full of some really challenging hills and descents which were great in the snow!”

Junior rider Jake Womersley (Sportscover) and Billy Harding (Paul Milnes Bradford Olympic) had a tough race in the UCI World Cup in Hoogerheide in the Netherlands.

On a technical and snow-filled course, Womersley put in a fine and determined performance to finish 35th, with Harding coming home a little in front in 33rd place.
