Liverpool: Reds target Iago Aspas “did not hesistate” to choose Anfield as his next destination when he heard of the Premier League club’s interest in his services. The Celta Vigo striker, who scored 12 goals in the Primera Division last season, has been linked with a summer move to Liverpool and, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, he has cancelled a holiday to talk terms with the Reds this week.

Wigan talks

Wigan: Chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed he will start interviewing for the vacant manager’s position this week, and intends to have someone in place by this time next week. Whelan revealed around 50 people have applied for the job of restoring the FA Cup winners to the Barclays Premier League.

Move denied

Everton: Boss Roberto Martinez is confident Marouane Fellaini is not interested in leaving the club. The 25-year-old Belgium midfielder, who has a release clause in his contract, has been heavily linked with a move either to Arsenal or to join up with former Toffees boss David Moyes at Manchester United.

He will stay

Real Madrid: President Florentino Perez claims Cristiano Ronaldo wants to commit his future to the club. Ronaldo has previously hinted he plans to leave Madrid when his existing deal expires in 2015, and has been reluctant to enter into talks over new terms. But Perez claimed the Portugal forward was ready to talk.

Rogne to go

Celtic: Thomas Rogne says he is likely to leave Celtic this summer. The 22-year-old Norwegian stopper has been hampered by a series of injuries since joining three-and-a-half years ago.
