A DOUBLE strike from Jane Inman sealed a 4-3 victory for Huddersfield Dragons Ladies first team against University of Leeds Ladies Seconds.

After allowing Leeds to fight back to level twice, Inman’s second goal two minutes from time sewed up the points to continue the Dragons good form.

Rebecca Durrans had given them the lead after some slick passing early in the game, and although Leeds stepped up the pressure, Huddersfield were able to soak it up and then doubled their lead when Inman notched her first goal after a string of short corners.

Leeds continued to press and were finally able to get themselves back into the game with their opening goal, and then from a short corner were able to equalise on the stroke of half time.

Disappointed at the loss of a two goal lead Huddersfield came out firing at the beginning of the second half and repeated what they did in the first, with some neat passing leading to Nicci Bagshaw grabbing the Dragons’ third.

The game was pretty even as Huddersfield tried to maintain their lead, while Leeds were chasing another leveller, which they eventually achieved from a short corner.

Both teams were now battling hard to try and find a winner, and with time running out, Dragons gained another short corner and up popped Inman to scored her second as Huddersfield closed the game out.
