JODIE BOOTH is a 4th Dan black belt.

The Kirkburton Karate Club stalwart has been training for 17 years and took the latest grade at the National Panel held in Barnsley.

It was the British Institute of Karate Organisation Northern Course and featured chairman Ken Henville (6th Dan), Lloyd Williams (7th Dan) and also the chief instructor Garth Waldrop.

At the same panel, Kirkburton club chief instructor Colin Hanson had three other 1st Dan black belts in Linus Rushworth, who attends Greenhead College, Tom Kay and Kirstie Hanson.

“They’ve all done extremely well and should be very proud of their efforts,” said club chief Hanson.
