WITH three weeks of the Babolat Huddersfield and District Tennis League season remaining, there are still plenty of twists and turns to come in the promotion and relegation issues.

In Men’s Division I, Batley A have a three-point advantage over last season’s champions Thongsbridge A, but Thongsbridge, unbeaten so far this season, have two games in hand.

The sides met in June when Thongsbridge ran out convincing winners at home and they will meet again at Batley Sports and Tennis Centre on the last day of the season in what could be a title decider.

Just five points behind the leaders, Gregory Fields A are still not out of the running for a late title surge.

Meanwhile in Men’s Division II it is a three way fight for top spot with only three points separating Cleckheaton A, Huddersfield B and Thornhill A.

Mirfield A look to have promotion secured in Division III, needing just one point to guarantee that achievement.

However, Denby Dale A have two games in hand and could still stop Mirfield winning the championship.

In Division IV Longley A and Marsden B look favourites for promotion as they sit four and three points clear of Holmfirth A who have a game in hand.

The tightest finish will come from the Men's Division V with four teams separated by a single point.

Linthwaite Methodist A, Longley B, Cleckheaton B and Denby Dale B are all in with a chance of promotion, though Dale’s game in hand could prove crucial.

Division VI looks to be settled as Linthwaite Methodist B and Thornhill B sit 12 and 11 points clear of the third placed team, with promotion surely secured.

In the Ladies’ divisions, Huddersfield A remain unbeaten after 10 games and are all but certainties to retain their Division I title.

Thongsbridge B and Grove A look favourites to gain promotion from Division II, while in Ladies Division III Thongsbridge D are 10 points clear at the top with only four matches remaining.

With five teams separated by just three points, Ladies Division IV is set for a nervy finish.

Huddersfield D, Marsden B, Thongsbridge E, Cleckheaton and Netherton are all still in with a shout for the title, however it remains to be seen if Thongsbridge can use their games in hand to their advantage

Thongsbridge F, Longley C and Thornhill, who are separated by three points, will battle it out for promotion from Division V.
