DEBBIE JACKSON and Judith Vickerman defeated returning two-time champions Helen Lambert and Jean Gledhill in the Ladies B section of the Huddersfield Badminton Tournament.
Jackson and Vickerman (scratch) beat Lambert and Gledhill (+5) 15-21 21-12 21-18.
Lambert and Gledhill had previously beat Gemma Hayman and Rosina Costello in their semi-final, while Jackson and Vickerman beat Sue Oldfield and Diane Horton in the other.
Brighouse squad juniors Liam Moore and Arron Gill won a Men’s B section dominated by youth.
Moore and Gill (scratch) beat Brighouse pair Steve Brown and Thomas Platt (+4), 15-21 21-18 21-14.
Diane Horton and Ian Carprenter were winners in the Mixed B section as Sue Oldfield and Issy Caffour missed out.
Horton and Carpenter (+1) earned the bragging rights over Oldfield and Caffour (-2), in the all-Royds Hall battle as they won 21-13 21-17.
Brighouse pair Gemma Hayman and Arron Gill were eliminated in the round robin.
