DENBY DALE’S British junior Trials bike champion Jack Price was in hot form again at the Ilkley DMC annual New Year trial.

The course was muddy and strength sapping for the 77 competitors at Dob Park.

Riding in Class A Youth 15-year-old Price won his section from James Stones and Sam Jennings – and in addition the Huddersfield Falcon rider was also classified as third overall on the hard route.

Despite the heavy muddy conditions there was a strong showing from Price’s Falcon teammate William Tolson, but he came second to Idle’s top youth rider Joe Faunthorpe who won Class B in the category after losing a mere 27 penalty points.

Melmerby motor engineer Stewart Blythe rode one of his occasional trials and won the Clubman section from Skipton’s James Moorhouse and Hartshead veteran Stewart Oughton, while Arkengarthdale six footer Jack Stones grabbed the top novice award from Rawdon’s Sam Beecroft-Penny and Guiseley’s John Lydamore.
