DENBY DALE trials rider Jack Price thoroughly enjoyed his trip to the seaside.

The teenager took part in the Scarborough DM Club’s Southern Group Trials Championship staged at Low North Park and came out on top.

Price, riding his JST Road and Trial sponsored Gas Gas, took the field apart – eclipsing all the adults including the East Yorkshire trials champion.

Kirkbymoorside’s Jack Peace won youth B class by a country mile, but brother Dan had to give best to Price in Youth A – as did everyone else as the 15-year-old produced the best ride of the day on just nine marks lost.

Huddersfield Falcons held their last 2012 Club Championship Trial at Whitegate Farm near Holmfirth.

On the championship route ex-professional rider Tony Scarlett was the cream of the crop turning in a near perfect ride.

Despite an icy surface that was thawing Scarlett never really looked troubled, his flowing riding style proving more than a match for the gripless bankings and rocky streams.

Indeed Scarlett remained ‘feet-up’ right until the final lap, eventually conceding points on sections one and three to account for his final total of two.

Pushing him all the way were fellow South Yorkshire rider Neil Savage and reigning Falcons club champion Ben Robinson.

Both lost four marks each and on the tie-break rule Savage got the nod.
