Scammonden driver Daniel Lloyd is focused on a successful end to his second season in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship at Brands Hatch at the weekend.

The 21-year-old goes into the season finale lying fourth in the standings with one victory and, with eight podiums to his credit, still has the chance to end the campaign inside the top three.

Lloyd arrives in Kent having finished on the podium at each of the last three meetings and a total of four rostrum visits from the last six races.

“Brands Hatch should be good, it’s a great track and I enjoy racing there”, said the Team Parker Racing driver.

“We’re 15 points behind third place at the minute and that is a lot to make up in Porsche, especially if nobody has any dramas.

“But hopefully we can be on the podium in both races.”

Having begun his second year with the disappointment of a ‘did not finish’ after contact in the opening race of the season at Brands Hatch’s shorter Indy Circuit configuration, Lloyd bounced back in the second outing of the weekend to open his podium account.

Lloyd added a victory at Thruxton in round five, and added a runner-up spot in the second race to really get his season moving.

After another double podium at Oulton Park, mid-season misfortune struck at Croft and Snetterton but, since then, he has returned to the sort of consistency which could help secure third position.

“The last two years have been a huge learning curve, when you’ve raced in the championship you can understand why people respect Porsche GB so much,” said Lloyd.

“The standard is so high, it’s such a tough championship, but it teaches you so much as well.” Qualifying at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit takes place on Saturday, with both races on Sunday, with round 19 beginning at 10.0 and round 20 set to start at around 3.35 – the final race of the season will be broadcast live on ITV4.
