HOLMFIRTH racer Stuart Pearson had his boyhood dream come true when he met actor Sir Patrick Stewart.

Stewart was attending Ginetta’s official media day marking the launch of the 2012 season.

Pearson, pictured with the Star Trek actor, was testing in his new black G40 car, which was part of his prize for winning last year’s Ginetta G20 Challenge.

The day was open to all Ginetta competition drivers, giving them the opportunity to try out their cars on the Silverstone circuit and meet up with Sir Patrick and others, including Comedy Dave from Radio 1, Andy Sugden from Emmerdale and Nick Knowles from DIY SOS..

Pearson said: “As a boy I always watched Star Trek and it was a real privilege to meet up with Sir Patrick.

“We had a good chat about motor racing and he had a go on track himself later in the day.”

Pearson will be testing next week ahead of the first race outing at Oulton Park on Easter Saturday.
