Track legends James Whitham and Carl Fogarty are gearing up to support a Yorkshire charity.

Four-times World Superbikes champion Fogarty and Huddersfield’s former British champion Whitham have committed to raising funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity as part of their ‘Foggy and Whit: Givin’ It Gas’ 2014 UK chat show tour.

Fogarty and Whitham are set to appear at City Varieties in Leeds on Tuesday, January 21, and Whitham said: “We support a local charity on every leg of the tour, and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance is one that is particularly close to my heart.

“The people behind it do some amazing work and they’ve no doubt attended a number of motorbike accidents over the years.

“There are people out there who owe their lives to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, so it’s a vital service.

“They are totally reliant on donations from the public, so we want to do our bit to help.”

Kerry Garner, of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: “We’re really pleased that Carl and James have chosen to support us on this leg of the tour.

“We hope the night is a real success and obviously the more people who support the raffle, the better.”

The event will feature a charity raffle and the chance to win some amazing prizes with the top prize on offer a once-in-a-lifetime flight on Whitham’s private plane.

There will also be an opportunity to win tickets for a round of the World Superbike Championships, and some exclusive signed merchandise.

The on-stage chat and questions will last around two hours, followed by the charity prize draw and a chance to get autographs from the pair.
