NEW MILL rider Jacob Scott (Sportscover) was in sparkling form in the Manchester Regional Track League.

In the 40-lap Scratch he was in the thick of the action and attacking the field in his characteristic style.

In a terrific bunch sprint finish he got sixth, with Gabz Cullaigh in seventh.

In the Points race, Scott (inset) chose his moments carefully to attack just three sprints, from which he amassed a total of six points to finish fifth overall.

And in the final 64-lap Scratch race, he launched a blistering attack from three laps out and, despite some serious challenges, held on to take the win by two bike lengths.

Mirfield rider Jake Womersley (Sportscover) travelled over to Louisville, Kentucky, to take part in the Cyclo-Cross World Championships.

The four-man squad for GB were Billy Harding (Paul Milnes Cycles/Bradford Olympic RC), Jack Ravenscroft (Solihull CC), Adam King (Cardiff JIF) and Womersley.
