Budding taekwondo players have the chance to check out what Huddersfield club Premier have to offer this Friday and Saturday.

Based at Linden Road in Birkby, Premier already have more than 500 members taking part in the sport made famous by the London Olympics – but there is room for more.

The non-profit making club caters for all ages – three to six-year-olds (Lil Dragons), seven to 16 and adults – at their own well-equipped premises.

Classes offer a disciplined exercise programme which helps with all-round fitness as well as building skills in taekwondo, a Korean martial art which combines controlled combat with foot and fist and self-defence.

One of the biggest clubs in the country, Premier has just produced three British champions as well as a Great Britain Under 21 international in Shelley’s Alex Needham.

There are free open sessions on Friday evening for Lil Dragons (5.00 to 5.45) and all other ages (6.00 to 7.00).

On Saturday, it’s Lil Dragons between 10.00 and 10.45 and 1.15 and 2.00 and other ages from 11.00 to 12.00 and 12.00 to 1.00.
