Robert Read made a great break of 109 for Lindley WMC’s A team in their win over Paddock Conservatives A in the Hudderfsield and District Snooker and Biirads Association’s Open Snooker League, writes Joe Link.

Sam Lucas scored a break of 32 for the Golcar Royal British Legion’s, and Martin Wood of Milnsbridge Liberal had a good day, producing a fine break of 51.

Trevor Liversidge also played some of his best snooker, scoring breaks of 37 and 44.

Meanwhile, the opening matches in the Veterans League saw Geoff price of Springwood A make a 28 break in his victory over Billy Keenan of Marsh Liberal C and the Billiards season got underway with Brockholes player Matthew Peaker recording breaks of 47 and 49, but it wasnt enough to prevent a defeat to Paul Raynor of Marsh Liberal Club’s B team.
