HUDDERSFIELD claimed a 4-2 victory in their latest Yorkshire Snooker League clash against Brighouse at Crosland Moor Con.

Colin Hawkins gave Huddersfield their first point when he knocked in a break of 45 during a second-frame win over Jimmy Sykes, before Hillhouse & Birkby talent Alex Hirst won both his frames against Mark Wainhouse.

That left Huddersfield skipper Andy Battye to wrap up the win, when he beat Andrew Kitson.

Huddersfield 4 Brighouse 2: Colin Hawkins halved with Jimmy Sykes 35-73, 70-31; Alex Hirst bt Mark Wainhouse 70-49, 64-37; Andy Battye halved with Andrew Kitson 22-53, 64-34.

In the Holme Valley Snooker Championship, Trevor Roper will meet Billy Keenan in the final on Tuesday at Brockholes Bowling Club.

Roper beat Scholes’ Richard Walker 3-0 in the semis, while Keenan beat Neil Armstrong, also 3-0.
