THE nights are lighter, the weather's better – so it's an ideal time for families to start getting out and being active at Leeds Road sports complex in Huddersfield.

Starting next Monday are a range of activities that children aged eight and over and adults can enjoy, individually and together. The aim is to get families exercising and having fun together.

Mondays see the return of the popular Mess About events on the MUGA (multi-use games area) from 6pm to 7pm.

It’s the chance to enjoy organised team games.

The area is also the venue for short tennis on Tuesdays, 4.30pm-5.30pm.

Parents/carers are welcome to join their children on court for games played over a small net.

Activities move to the running track on Wednesdays with a Community Athletics Club for ages eight to 13 between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

It is followed at 6pm by an hour-long Jog Kirklees session for those new to jogging, again open to anyone aged eight and over.

Then, on Saturday mornings, there is an hour-long multi-sports session starting at 11am. Once more, parents/carers can join children aged eight and over in a range of fun sporting activities.

Prices for all activities are £2.80 adults, £1.45 children.
