There has been a switch of date for this year’s Sellers International tournament at Huddersfield Lawn Tennis and Squash Club.

The event – which attracts competitors in all age groups from across the country and, occasionally, overseas – has been put back because of the Tour De France coming through this area early next month.

The Sellers will now be held from Saturday, July 12, to Saturday, July 19.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield’s Phoebe Suthers, 11, represented Great Britain in the three-day International Open Deaf Youth Tennis Cup in Hamburg, Germany.

Phoebe travelled with the National Deaf Tennis Coach, Cathy Fletcher, her husband Lewis Fletcher, who also represents Great Britain in the men’s tournaments, and two boys who were part of the team.

She competed against deaf girls between the ages of 12 and 20 in the singles and she also played in the mixed doubles.

In addition to Great Britain, eight other countries entered – Slovenia, Guinea, France, Zambia, Slovakia, Taiwan, Canada and India.
