Hall Bower Club was the battleground for the Holme Valley Pool League Team Knockout final.

Battling for the honours were Nethertong’s Royal Oak B, who had kept a clean sheet all season not having conceded a match, against Meltham side Victoria park A.

The match went to form as the Oak team did not drop a frame in an almost flawless exhibition to win 5-0.

Victoria Park A performed well, but the run of the table was always in the Oak’s favour.

Match officials and referees were Peter Jennett and Martin J Gabanski.

Thongsbridge Bowling Club hosted the Doubles Knockout final and the trophy remained firmly in the grip of Royal Oak B pairing David Sykes and David Crossland.

The Oak duo stamped their authority on the game against Hall Bower A pairing Richard Lodge and Barry Nettleton from the off.

Crossland made a full clearance in the opening frame and Sykes played a strong supporting role.

The challengers Lodge and Nettleton, battled valiantly, but Sykes and Crossland cruised to a 5-1 victory – despite Crossland not wearing his traditional ‘Lucky Lycra’.

The standard of pool was excellent, and the referrees and match officials were Rob Taylor and Richard Whitehead.
