SLAITHWAITE Saracens completed a league double over Greetland All-Rounders with a 40-12 away victory – the same score by which they won the first encounter.

Saracens made a strong start and were 10 points to the good in as many minutes.

Stuart Dunbar opened their account with a try and Mick Mellor followed him over the line with Danny Garside adding the goal.

Slaithwaite kept up the pressure and tries arrived at regular intervals with Darren Hawkyard crossing twice and there were touchdowns for Bobby Bhodori and Adam Warner, but Garside managed only one further goal to see the visitors lead 28-0 at the interval.

Greetland were still under the cosh as the second period got under way with Saracens adding to their lead with quick tries from Richard Flooks and Graham Fryer, putting them well in control.

The All-Rounders luck finally changed when a long pass was intercepted and they raced away for a try under the posts to which the goal was added.

Slaithwaite’s response was instant with Bhodri adding his second touchdown, with a late try and goal for Greetland wrapping up the scoring.
