PLANS for the Yorkshire Men’s League are gathering pace, with a number of new amateur rugby league teams expected to join the competition in 2013.

Teams who took part in the inaugural summer season, including famous Huddersfield club Moldgreen, have already been asked to sign-up for next year, while a host of new sides have already signalled their intentions to join the league.

“We’re looking to build on the positives from our first season and are already assured of welcoming some new members for next year,” said RFL Yorkshire Regional Development Officer Chris Spurr.

“Interest has already been high and we are now inviting applications from any new sides to come join us ahead of the January 14 deadline.

“We’ll be operating a Premier Division from April to September, and also plan to have several groups which will play a shorter season from May to August.”

The full divisional structure and fixtures will be announced in due course.
