MELTHAM All Blacks Under 12s are the town's top dogs after a 32-0 victory over Meltham All Blacks in the Huddersfield Cup final.

That came after Meltham secured another 32-0 triumph over Newsome Panthers in the semi-final to claim the local bragging rights in style.

Only poor finishing kept the score in the final down to 8-0 at the break after tries from George King and Connor Smith Robertson.

But in the second half, they stepped up a gear, with further tries from Correy Noel (2), Tre Miller, Patrick Diavewa and Daniel Hirst. Man-of-the-match was Jack Thompson and the top tackler was Toby King.

Coaches Andrew King and Richard Baines were proud of their players' efforts after the small Under 12s squad went through the season undefeated and managed to 'nil' opponents in six of their last 12 games.

They have finished second in the Premier Division and won two Cup finals, and anybody wishing to join this successful and friendly group of players can contact Andy King (07932 522477).
