UNDERBANK Rangers coach Aaron Perrin has warned his players: "Cut out the penalites or else!"

The experienced Australian believes a lack of discipline proved his side's downfall as they were beaten 30-10 at home to Featherstone Lions in the Conference National League six days ago.

And he fears Rangers could suffer another loss at Dewsbury Celtic tomorrow (2.30) if they don't clean up their act.

"I thought we were the better side against Featherstone for the majority of the game," said Perrin.

"But once again our poor discipline cost us dear.

"I lost count of the number of times we put ourselves in a strong position, only to waste the opportunity by giving away cheap penalties.

"This is something that has to stop very quickly, or else we'll struggle to get the wins on the board.

"I'm happy with a lot of what we're doing, so the focus this week has been to improve our discipline. There's no doubt at all we're proving our own worst enemies."

Perrin and his side have bitter memories of their last visit to Dewsbury Celtic.

They suffered a 40-0 defeat that day, and Perrin is desperate to put the record straight.

"That was our worst performance of the season," he admitted.

"It was a bit of an embarrassment, and I certainly don't want a repeat this weekend.

"But with our prop, Jamie Tarazi, back from a knee injury, we're looking in good shape in the pack.

"We'll have to give late fitness checks to James Price (groin) and Richard Lofthouse (hamstring).

"But I'm sure that whichever side makes the trip we can give a good account of ourselves."

New Australian winger Jay Roache made a highly encouraging debut against the Lions last weekend.

And he is already impressed with what his new team has to offer.

"I thought the side performed really well considering a lot of new people have come into the squad and there are several out injured," he said.

"Our defence was strong, Carl Leach had a good game leading the forward pack well, and the team overall put in a great effort."
