EMLEY MOOR are bidding for a Huddersfield knock-out final double this season.

Having already set up a Holliday Cup final Easter Monday meeting with Slaithwaite Saracens, the in-form Pennine League Second Division side are now setting their sights on James Joseph Conlan Memorial Trophy glory.

But standing in their way of moving a step closer to an outstanding double are Slaithwaite’s second string, with the clubs set to meet at Emley tomorrow.

On paper, Moor would appear to be a good bet to progress, although with the Saracens having a handsome 32-point start under the competition’s handicap system and having shown some solid form in their Division V title chase, it could prove a very interesting 80 minutes.

Slaithwaite will, of course, also be eager for success to match the efforts of their first team who will be bidding to beat Moor and hold on to the Holliday Cup they lifted last year.

But this weekend, Saracens’ senior side are eyeing Premier Division victory No7 when they host a Dewsbury Moor side who are a point adrift at the foot of the table (2.00).

St Joseph’s are still struggling at the bottom of the Championship Division table, but with a decent performance could make life difficult for King Cross Park at Fartown.

At the same time, First Division Newsome Panthers face a challenging test at third-placed Batley Boys, while in Division II Lindley Swifts will be looking to make a move up the table with a home win over Wyke.

In Division V, Meltham All Blacks will be looking to remain in the leading pack after their weekend trip to Eastmoor Dragons, with fellow Fifth Division side Newsome A in Supplementary Cup third round action at home to Wakefield City.
