Four Huddersfield clubs are eyeing Holliday Cup glory this weekend.

The town’s main amateur RL knockout competition has reached the semi-final stage, with two ewagerly-awaited semi-final fixtures taking place tomorrow.

Pennine League Championship side Slaithwaite Saracens should be confident of making the most of their higher league status and home advvantage when they entertain Championship I side Newsome Panthers.

But confidence in the Saracens’ camp could be a little dented after their surprise James Joseph Conlan Memorial Trophy semi-final home defeat at the hands of Fourth Division outfit Meltham All Blacks in this handicap competition.

Both teams are in sixth place in their respective divisions but the Panthers will find it tough to clinch a place in the final of the competition.

The other tie sees a repeat of last week’s Conlan clashas St Joseph’s and Underbank Rangers do battle once more.

Last week’s match finished in favour of Second Division high flyers Underbank Rangers as they advanced to the final with their thrilling 50-42 triumph over Championship I’s St Joseph’s.

Rangers are at home again and will be hoping for a repeat outcome to contest two cup finals this season, as well as winning a possible league title!

At the same time, Meltham All Blacks are on League duty and travel to struggling Thornhil Trojans A.
