Halifax RLFC will be using the week off they have earned to catch their breath and patch up their injuries for the next stage of the Kingstone Press Championship play-offs.
Fax earned their break with a stunning 21-6 win over last season’s Grand Final winners Sheffield Eagles at the Don Valley Stadium.
Head coach Karl Harrison’s side now await the outcome of next Sunday’s Preliminary play-off semi-finals – between Leigh Centurions against Batley Bulldogs and the Eagles versus Dewsbury Rams – to find who they will meet in the Qualification semi-finals stage.
“We have got a week off now and we can patch up some bodies before the next game,” said Harrison.
“That could be against Sheffield as well!”
But if Halifax do face the Eagles once again Harrison will be looking for a repeat of the showing last Friday.
“I’m pleased for the guys because they have worked extremely hard, we got our rewards in the last 10 minutes of that game,” added Harrison.
“It wasn’t a pretty game to watch, but I thought it was a thoroughly professional performance.”
Halifax will go into the 2014 campaign without former Huddersfield GIants prop forward Sam Barlow.
Barlow is currently on loan at Championship rivals Featherstone Rovers having failed to force his way into Harrison’s side this season and Fax have said they are set to let the former Siddal junior join another club.
