GIANTS fans could see David Fauimu return in Sunday’s home Super League XVIII clash against champions Leeds Rhinos.

That’s head coach Paul Anderson’s prediction as the former New Zealand Test utility forward finally starts to get back to full fitness.

The 30-year-old has been struggling with a rib injury picked up during the win at Catalan Dragons in late April.

Faiumu has been restricted to the role of bit-part player ever since.

But Anderson knows the Super League break to accommodate the England v Exiles Origin clash has done the experienced battler a power of good, and that will be reflected in his contribution next weekend.

“Fuey’s been doing it tough,” admitted Anderson.

“But the signs are now suggesting the injury is behind him.”
