HUDDERSFIELD’S amateur rugby league teams have now taken a break and will not be back in Pennine League action until Saturday, January 5.

But the one notable exception is St Joseph’s.

On Sunday, a St Joseph’s XIII, which is made up of first and second-team players, will take on a joint ‘old boys’ and Under 17s side at Fartown.

It is the second time the festive fixture has taken place and is played in memory of St Joseph’s stalwart Paddy Folan.

The match kicks off at noon, with any former players who would like a run-out guaranteed a warm welcome, and it will be followed by a Christmas party at the club’s base at Grimescar pub.

St Joseph’s will then prepare to resume their Premier Division campaign at the start of January, and the following week (January 12) they travel to Fourth Division Underbank Rangers in their re-scheduled Holliday Cup clash.

Meanwhile, the draws for the Northern Rail National Cup junior competitions have now been made and are as follows (ties played on January 13, 2008).
