SLAITHWAITE Saracens and Newsome Panthers will have another attempt at playing their Andrew Bennett Memorial Trophy first-round tie tomorrow.

The Huddersfield clubs were due to meet at The Glen on November 25, but it was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Hopefully, it will be a totally different story this weekend, although the forecast is far from favourable.

If it does go ahead, Pennine League Second Division side Newsome will be fancying their chances of progressing.

Although the Fourth Division Saracens are showing solid form, they go into the game cold after last week's Holliday Cup clash at home to First Division St Joseph's was postponed.

At the same time, the Panthers were winning at Emley Moor and they will be keen to maintain that momentum.

For Moor, on the other hand, it's a case of looking to bounce back and the trip tomorrow to the Second Division's bottom club, Dudley Hill A, would seem the ideal opportunity.

St Joseph's return to action after last week's postponement with a home clash against fellow mid-table team Illingworth, and current form would suggest a victory for the Fartown-based side.

Fellow Division I team Moldgreen were also left kicking their heels a week ago when their Holliday tie at the DRAM Centre against Meltham All Blacks was called off.

So they will be hoping their pitch has improved for the visit of Thornhill Trojans A when a win could see them go top again.

Lindley Swifts will be buoyant after their Cup win at Underbank Rangers in their last outing.

But they know they will need to be even better to get anything out of their trip to second-placed Third Division side Wyke.

Rangers will obviously be smarting from that defeat and will be hoping to take it out on Brighouse in their Division IV away game, while Meltham's improving form should be reflected with victory at struggling Wetherby.

In Division V, Moldgreen A travel to Park Amateurs A, while Slaithwaite A should win at Harehills in Division VI.
