SIDDAL ARLFC’s hopes of reaching the Conference Premier Division play-offs were dealt an unexpected blow.

The Chevinedge side were beaten 22-20 at home by Myton Warriors – who had gone into the game as the division’s bottom side.

Everything had seemed like business as usual as the hosts raced into a 14-0 lead, but by the end of the contest they had slipped to their fifth defeat of the season.

Mark Boothroyd, Steve Hope, Ross White and Richard Lopag grabbed tries for the home side as Gavin Stead added a couple of conversions.

However, it was not enough as Myton responded with three Ash James goals and tries to Alan Dunham, Lee James, Chris Wainman and Bradley Krebs.
