IN-FORM Slaithwaite Saracens are on the County Cup trail.

After opening their Pennine League Premier Division campaign with three straight wins, the joint top-flight leaders head to Dewsbury Moor in the first round of the Hamuel Reichenbacher BARLA Yorkshire Cup tomorrow.

And it’s a tie the Holliday Cup holders should be confident of winning, with Kirklees rivals Moor having lost all of their opening three Premier Division fixtures.

For Huddersfield’s other clubs, it’s Pennine League business as usual.

In the Championship Division, St Joseph’s are still looking to get off the mark after three failed attempts, and they could find their work cut out trying to break their duck at mid-table Knottingley Rockware.

First Division Newsome Panthers are in buoyant mood after last week’s win at Allerton Bywater and they will be confident of chalking up win No3 at home to Brighouse Rangers.

But in Division II, both of the town’s teams are on their travels.

Lindley Swifts face a massive test of their unbeaten credentials when they take on leaders Illingworth, while Underbank Rangers should be ready to collect their second win at bottom club Dodworth.

There’s an eagerly-anticipated derby clash in Division V where Slaithwaite A host Newsome A, while Meltham All Blacks’ solid start to their campaign will be tested to the full when they travel to unbeaten Whitkirk Bulldogs.

And in Division VII, Underbank A look to secure their first win of the season when they host Greetland All Rounders A.

All these fixtures are, of course, subject to whether the pitches are deemed playable after this week’s heavy downpour, with Kirklees Council having already called off matches on their pitches.
