Underbank Rangers remain in the National Conference League Second Division play-off mix without playing a game.

Head coach Richard Knight’s men were scheduled to host Castleford Panthers at the weekend.

But their West Yorkshire rivals announced on the eve of the game they were having to pull out of the competition due to a lack of available players, and their season’s results have been expunged.

It means Rangers still have more than a fighting chance of being part of the end-of-season shake-up, with fourth place guaranteed if they can beat Oldham St Annes at The Cross on Saturday and follow it up with a win at Leigh East the following weekend, and Blackbrook slip up in one of their two remaining matches.
