In-form winger Courtney Allette stormed over for five tries as Underbank Rangers returned to winning ways with a 60-4 home National Conference League Division I destruction of strugglers Elland.

Head coach Richard Knight’s side produced the perfect response to Saturday’s shuddering 29-6 defeat to Myton Warriors at The Cross with a stunning all-round display.

Allette was Rangers’ sole tryscorer at the weekend as Underbank lost valuable ground on the leading pack.

But there was no repeat in this re-arranged midweek win as the hosts gained the sweetest revenge for a defeat at Elland at the start of the season, with Allette proving almost unstoppable as he capitalised on the outstanding service provided by centre partner Alex Chatterton.

But their exploits still weren’t enough to stop substitute prop Jon-Lee Sanderson claiming the man-of-the-match award for an unstoppable impact off the bench.

Fellow substitute Andy Boothroyd also made his considerable presence felt when he was introduced and chipped in for a try, along with Dom Horne, Josh Dixon. Mitchell Turner, Craig Williams and Jayden Covell-Wood.

There were also goals from Luke Pogson (5), Horne and Tom Eidson.

The result means Underbank’s fears of being dragged back into a relegation scrap have been eased, with a home win over Millom on Saturday week putting Bank into the leading pack.
