Huddersfield Giants will face the sternest test when they take on Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos at Headingley.

The tie will take place on the weekend of May 16/17 with the sides battling for a place in the quarter finals.

The Giants got their Super League campaign back on track with a convincing 38-14 victory over Catalan Dragons on Sunday.

The Giants lost at Leeds 28-24 in round three of this season's top-flight campaign.

Excited Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson knows his players will relish their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup sixth-round trip to in-form Leeds Rhinos.

Coach Paul Anderson’s men were handed the toughest possible route to reach the quarter-final with the Headingley clash against the Cup holders and current Super League XX leaders over the weekend of May 16-17.

The Rhinos are riding high at the top of the table with 10 wins from their opening 11 fixtures.

But the Giants could count themselves unlucky to have lost 28-24 at Leeds in round three of this year’s top-flight competition on February 26.

And with Huddersfield having had the better of many of the recent exchanges with coach Brian McDermott’s side, including a 24-8 home win over the Rhinos in the fifth round in 2013, Anderson knows his side has what it takes to emerge victorious from this latest derby encounter.

“Let’s bring it on!”, said Anderson, whose side hosts Leeds in a Super League XX fixture in nine days’ time.

“Obviously, this tie is as tough as they come at the moment.

“But to be the best you’ve got to beat the best, and we’ll be ready for the challenge.

“Our recent record against them shows we know how to beat them. When they narrowly beat us at their place earlier in the season it was the first time they’d managed it since 2011.

“I know how much everyone at the club will look forward to this one.”
