HUDDERSFIELD Giants are top of the Junior Academy First Division.
The club's Under 18s side moved ahead of Warrington Wolves in the League table after a fine defensive effort helped secure a 24-4 triumph over Salford at Syngenta.
At London Broncos a week ago, the tackling had given coach Chris Plume major concern as his side won 48-38.
But a hard week on the training field helped alter all that, and they restricted their visitors to a late consolation score.
That came in the 70th minute with the two League points already in the bag.
After defending four sets of six in their own 20 in the opening 12 minutes, the Giants grabbed the first of their five tries.
Excellent approach play caught Salford on the back foot and Danny Garside was on hand to finish in the corner.
Then in the 33rd minute the lead was doubled when Richard Knight supported a Thomas Hemingway break to cross for a second unconverted score.
Within seven minutes of the restart the Giants were over again as Peter Robinson plunged over from a quick tap penalty and Hemingway converted.
And then Knight and Luke George added further scores to seal a top success.
