GIANTS coach Jon Sharp has admitted he is forcing Senior Academy coach Lee St Hilaire to delay naming his side for tomorrow's trip to Oldham (12.30).
With question marks still hanging over the fitness of a number of his senior players, Sharp has been unable to release any members of his first-team squad to St Hilaire.
That obviously creates problems for St Hilaire, although this can prove a constant problem for Academy coaching staff.
"It must be very frustrating at times being an Academy coach, because the side you can select is almost always totally dependent on what happens at first-team level," said Sharp.
"That's what is happening with us right now. It's far from an ideal situation, but it is inevitable when there are injuries to first-team players."
Besides the Senior Academy side being in action, the Junior Academy also have a game.
Coach Chris Plume's side entertain Hull KR at Huddersfield YMCA's Laund Hill ground (2.30), and he has the luxury of being able to name his side.
But he, too, has been disrupted by the uncertainty at senior level.
For instance, highly talented half-back duo Thomas Hemingway and Paul Mennell have been pulled into the Senior side, meaning Plume must face the Robins lacking the services of two of his most influential players.
Junior Academy: Hull; Sutherland, Knight, Robinson, Dunbar; Simpson, Hawkyard; Southwell, Garside, Holdsworth, Watson, Hird, George (S). Subs: Tillotson, Flaherty, Clarke, Crabtree (A).
