WELL done Ken Davy for telling the ungrateful and ill-informed Town fans how it is!

They are now well aware of what has been done to save their club from possible extinction.

Far from supporting the Giants, it's the Giants who are helping to prop them up.

So this raises another question in my thoughts.

On Sunday, the Giants Junior Academy played top Australian touring team Wests Tigers Under 18s.

This prestigious match should surely have been played at the Galpharm, not at Huddersfield YMCA's Laund Hill ground.

It's to be assumed the decision was made to protect the Galpharm pitch, even though football causes far more damage to it than rugby (there are only two marks on the field at the end of every season - the two soccer penalty areas).

Kirklees Council have helped both Town and the Giants.

That is council tax money, so why can't the council-tax paying RL supporters have use of the stadium?

There should have been only one fitting arena to play the Academy game, and that is the Galpharm - not some out-of-town rugby union ground.

Give the lads some encouragement. This is, after all, where they aspire to play later in their careers.

Change needed

I AM a Huddersfield Giants fan and my son also plays for the Academy.

I would just like to say how disgusted I am with the set-up and running of the Academy sides (both the Under 18s and Under 21s).

Most Giants fans are probably aware that they have won very few games this season and, in my opinion, the coaching staff need to get a grip of things.

On matchdays, the Under 21s sometimes struggle to get a full team of players together, so the best players from the Under 18s are taken from that side to play for the 21s.

Why?

The Under 18s have been struggling as it is to win games with a full team, so they have no chance of winning when depleted.

The Under 21s didn't win any games by taking Under 18 players on board, so for most weeks both sides lost!
