There was a complete wipe-out for Huddersfield’s Pennine League clubs at the weekend.

All six of the scheduled fixtures for the town’s teams fell victim to the weather as the current wintry blast once again took its toll.

The fact Kirklees Council called off all games on their own pitches last Thursday meant many were automatically knocked on the head, while frost and waterlogging caused last-minute postponements at other venues.

And with the forecast for more snow over the next few days, there are fears there could be another blank weekend, leading to the possibility of a fixture backlog at the end of the season.
