FIRED-UP Giants centre Julian Bailey believes he has some important Super League business to finish before leaving for a new life in France.

The 25-year-old centre has confirmed he has put a return to Australia on hold after agreeing a two-year contract with French club UTC, who will be joining Super League in 2006.

He had initially decided to quit the Giants in order for fiancee Anna to continue her legal studies back home.

Now, however, the couple have had a change of heart, meaning Bailey could face the Giants with the Perpignan-based club in Super League XI.

But right now the former Newcastle Knights star, who has played the last few games in the second row, is concentrating fully on the remainder of the campaign, starting with the clash at Wakefield tonight (8.00).

"The French move has happened so quickly, and this time last week we were all geared up to be going back to Australia," said Bailey.

"But, to be honest, I'm not prepared to think too much about France at this moment.

"All I can really think about is playing my remaining games with the Giants and making sure I leave Huddersfield on a high.

"I've loved every single minute of my time here, and I would hate it to finish on a disappointing note.

"And I think we've all got the motivation to do everything possible to get the better of Wakefield tonight.

"There's a general feeling among the boys that we owe them one for the way they beat us at the stadium earlier in the season.

"That defeat marked the start of our dip in form and also gave Wakefield the momentum to take what we firmly believe should have been our top-six spot.

"That will be on our minds when we take to the field tonight.

"We know it will be tough, it always is at Wakefield, but we know we can do it."
