NEW Giants director Alan Bamber is confident the fans will come out in force to support his first Squadbuilder meeting at the McAlpine Stadium tonight (7.00).

Bamber was appointed to the board last month and immediately stated his intention to start a fund to help raise cash to bring in at least one extra player for coach Jon Sharp's Super League squad.

Early interest in the scheme has been high, but Bamber believes a meeting to outline his plans to as wide an audience as possible is now required.

"People have expressed a lot of interest in the fund but are keen to know more," he said.

"Tonight is the opportunity to do just that, and it's also the opportunity for people to come up with any ideas they may have to help raise extra case.

"I organised a race night two years ago for the Academy and raised £800, and I'm sure others could do something similar.

"But it's up to them, and I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say."

As an extra incentive for those who are pledging cash, Bamber will enter every supporter into a draw to win a pair of tickets for next Saturday's Grand Final. The draw takes place on Tuesday.
