HUDDERSFIELD Giants have been given a date for their big Junior Academy play-off semi-final qualification clash at Widnes Vikings.

The teams that finished first and second in the Division I table will go head to head at the Halton Stadium on Thursday, September 11 (7.45).

The winners go straight into the Grand Final on September 27, while the losers have a second bite of the cherry.

In the other play-off ties, Warrington entertain Keighley and Salford host Wakefield.

* Huddersfield's historic George Hotel is to host the first executive meeting of the newly-formed 1895 International Group tomorrow.

The George was, of course, the venue of the meeting which heralded the birth of rugby league in 1895.

And it is no coincidence that the first meeting is exactly 108 years after the game was founded.

"We are delighted and honoured to be having the first 1895 International executive meeting in the same room at the George Hotel where the game was founded," said Lionel Hurst of the executive Group.

"Tomorrow promises to be a great day!"

The Group is the brainchild of the Cheltenham-based Hurst and has been formed with a view to assisting with the growth of the international game.
