FLYING Giants winger Bolu Fagborun has signed his first Super League contract - on the day he helped the club reach Thursday's Junior Academy Grand Final at Warrington.
The 18-year-old's one-year deal will enable him combine training with his studies at Bradford University.
And the former Dudley Hill junior celebrated the signing of his contract by playing a key role as the Giants beat Salford 14-12 to set up a Final re-match with Warrington at the Halliwell-Jones Stadium on Thursday night (8.00).
"The win was the icing on the cake," said a delighted Fagborun, who signed his contract straight after Saturday's win at The Willows.
"The club have been great with me in working my contract around my studies.
"As soon as I got my timetable for my business management degree course I sat down with the Giants to see if we could get something sorted out.
"They appreciate how important my studies are, but they also appreciated how desperate I was to land a Super League contract with them.
"Having broken into the first team last season (he played three times) I'm desperate to play even more games in Super League.
"The club know I won't let my studies get in the way of my determination to play regularly in the first team.
"That's always been my goal, and I'm not about to let the opportunity slip me by now. It's great to get this deal."
