ALTHOUGH the mood among everyone after our defeat against Leeds Rhinos was one of bitter disappointment, the focus in training this week has been on the positive rather than the negative.

Yes, everyone was feeling pretty down over last Saturday’s match, because we all know we under-performed.

But Browny (Nathan Brown) has been keen for us not to dwell on what went on and make sure we kick-on straight away against Warrington this weekend.

Obviously, we have had to review the events of the Leeds defeat, and it’s pretty clear how much we contributed to our own downfall.

Leeds are a quality team – they are the reigning Super League champions after all – but we did gift them four tries and dropped far too much ball to challenge them effectively.

It’s clear, therefore, exactly where we went wrong and what we need to do to put things right, and hopefully things will get back to normal this weekend.

It’s another tough challenge for us, and we know that if we don’t right the wrongs of that Leeds’ performance and produce something similar on Sunday we’ll be beaten for a second time on the trot, which is something that hasn’t happened to us so far this season.

I know Warrington haven’t made the greatest start to their year, but we face them on the back of a big win at Bradford Bulls, and any team that can put 58 points past a fellow Super League side must be capable of doing something right.

They’ve got some great players in their side, including former Australian Test centre Matt King.

He’s been finding it tough since he arrived, but if he gets back to his best he’ll be a massive threat.

It’s possible he could be up against Michael Lawrence, (above) and I know how much Bruno will relish that challenge.

I thought he did a great job against Leeds’ Keith Senior last weekend, and was probably our best player.

It’s incredible to think he’s only just turned 19, because of the way he plays, and I’m sure he’ll perform just as well again on Sunday. He just knows no fear.

THERE were a number of reasons why we felt so disappointed at the end of the game against Leeds Rhinos.

One of the main ones was that we weren’t able to put on a better show for the fans.

Once again they were absolutely superb and came out in good numbers, but we were unable to put in the performance they deserved.

Fortunately, they’re a pretty forgiving bunch and we know they’ll turn out again in good numbers for the games ahead, starting with the Warrington game this weekend.

So let’s hope after last weekend’s disappointment we can give them something to shout about again as quickly as possible.
