I’VE never been to Scotland before, which makes this weekend’s trip to Edinburgh pretty exciting.

But, unfortunately, I’m well aware there will be no time for sightseeing!

We’re going up to Scotland for the Magic Weekend for one reason, and one reason alone, to beat Celtic Crusaders and get our Super League season well and truly back on track.

And we know that if we don’t prepare for this fixture as thoroughly as possible and get our approach spot-on then we could become the first team this season to be beaten by them – and that’s the last thing we want!

I don’t think any of us is in any doubt that they will win some games this season, because they are a side that can play well, which they showed against us when we beat them 30-10 at the Galpharm on Good Friday.

A major problem the Crusaders faced was having such a disrupted pre-season due to the late arrival of so many of their Australian players due to visa delays.

However, as the year has progressed, they have gradually been improving and I don’t think they’re that far off getting that first elusive win.

As I said, we don’t want it to come against us, although we remain confident it won’t us, despite our recent blip.

When we’ve travelled away and had overnight stops, like we did against Harlequins in London and Catalans Dragons in the South of France, we’ve tended to put in some solid displays.

I think that’s because we enjoy each other’s company so much and we seem to thrive on spending time together, and we take that onto the competitive field.

So let’s all hope that’s the case again on Sunday.

We’ve been told it should be a great occasion, although as a group we’ve not really spoken about it and the coaching staff have been playing it down.

I think that’s because of the way we’ve been focusing solely on the importance of the game itself and the need to hit back in the League.

More than the occasion, this is all about the way we perform and make sure we halt that slide down the table, even though I know a fair few sides would be happy to be standing fourth!

The signs in training have all been positive, we’ve really ripped in to each other this week and the aggression certainly looks if it’s back.

On Sunday we’ll all know for sure.

PART of this week has obviously been spent reviewing the Warrington defeat and what exactly went wrong.

Hopefully, we’ll have come up with the right answers for this weekend.

Clearly, our energy and effort levels were not there, with many of us falling down on that particular area.

But one player who definitely wasn’t guilty of that was Fuey (David Faiumu).

In the past few weeks, in particular, he’s come off the bench and showed real glimpses in both attack and defence.

There’s no doubt he’s provided us with an attacking spark and I’ve been fortunate I’ve been able to get a few good passes off him recently.

I’m sure if we follow Fuey’s lead, we’ll soon be back to where we want to be.
