ROLL on Leeds Rhinos!
That’s the way everyone at the club is thinking right now.
Everything is in place for what we’re sure will be a fantastic occasion, both on and off the field.
We head into the game on the back of a superb Easter and full of confidence.
And all the signs suggest we’ll once again be backed by a bumper crowd at the Galpharm.
Hopefully, we’ll give the fans something to shout about once again, just as we have been able to do for the past month or so.
It was certainly fantastic to see all those supporters at Hull KR and to see them looking so happy at the end of the game.
That really was a very tough contest, and I would say it was the most physical I’ve played in since I’ve been here.
But, somewhat surprisingly, I still felt more sore after the Crusaders game on Good Friday than I did after the Easter Monday game at Hull KR.
Why that was, I can’t exactly put my finger on it, but I’m sure it was helped by the way the forwards helped protect those behind them.
Once again I thought the boys in the pack were outstanding, with the props leading the way.
I think the coaching staff have come up with the perfect recipe for using the boys in the front row.
Keith Mason and Paul Jackson have been rising magnificently to the challenge of giving us the initial momentum down the middle, and they’ve given the real big guys, Eorl Crabtree and Darrell Griffin, a fantastic platform to come on and wreak real havoc.
On top of that, young Larne Patrick, above, marked his first start in the pack with a very solid, mature performance, which bodes well for the future.
In fact, all round, Easter was something definitely to celebrate.
ALL being well, I’ve finally sorted out my goalkicking.
That area of my game obviously started off pretty scratchy, and it was disappointing to say the least.
But over the past month I’ve really worked hard to try and fine-tune the goalkicking, and I think I’ve finally sorted it out.
I’ve now discovered I was not approaching the ball as I had been doing in the past, and the initial results suggest I might have come up with the right solution.
Up until the other week, my touchline attempts were going nowhere near.
But I managed to land a couple against the Crusaders last Friday night, and another attempt from wide out against Hull KR only just failed by the narrowest of margins.
So, fingers crossed, my goalkicking worries are now a thing of the past.
