HULL KR hooker Lincoln Withers believes a repeat of his side’s display at in-form Catalan Dragons could help them secure victory over the Giants this weekend.

The Robins produced a superb performance in the south of France and were desperately unlucky to lose 20-12 after conceding a match-clinching 75th-minute Thomas Bosc try.

But Withers believes that positive display will put Rovers in excellent heart for the visit of the Super League leaders on Sunday.

"The effort was definitely there against Catalan," said Withers, who was a teammate of Giants back-rower Jason Chan at the Crusaders last season.

"But a couple of things didn’t go our way, which they often don’t when you’re losing. Hopefully, things will turn around soon for us.

"It was still disappointing to lose and there are still some things we have to work on ahead of the game with Huddersfield.

"We have to bounce back pretty quickly and we need to bring the same attitude to the Huddersfield game and keep playing and improving.

"Something we’ve been working on is making sure we cut out the poor finishes to games and, overall, that was the case against Catalan.

"We didn’t let any easy points in at the end of the game, and our scrambling defence was great and we stuck together.

"Everyone had a dig and gave as much as they could.

"So, hopefully we can build on this performance and get some wins, although we know we face a big test against the Giants this weekend."
