HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS chief Nathan Brown has told his forwards to increase their firepower – or risk losing their Super League places.

Huddersfield head to Hull KR on Sunday determined to make it seven wins from eight top-flight starts.

That start has been achieved without several of their front-line forwards.

But David Fa’alogo made a successful return to action in last Friday’s 42-4 home triumph over Castleford Tigers, while Keith Mason and Dale Ferguson are recovering from injuries.

And with Luke O’Donnell (knee) having now returned to full training and looking to feature for the first time over Easter, Brown knows competition for pack places is fierce.

“We’ve clearly done well so far, but we know we need to get better,” said Brown.

“So we’re hoping that with more blokes back in the frame that’ll soon prove to be the case.

“Fa’alogo looked very strong against Cas and we’re looking forward to seeing how he backs up at Hull KR this weekend, and Keith, Dale and Luke aren’t far away now.

“That means those who are playing in the pack will need to offer us even more if they want to keep hold of their places.

“When you’ve got players of this quality ready to come back, it has to be good news.

“The challenge for those with shirts is to make sure they don’t give us a reason for handing them on to someone else.”
