DANNY BROUGH believes Nathan Brown is the right man to take him to the next level.

The 26-year-old goalkicking half-back finally agreed a move to the Giants yesterday to end weeks of speculation linking him with a switch from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Brough has signed a contract that will keep him at the Galpharm until the end of the 2014 season, and he is hoping to make his Super League debut in the claret and gold in Sunday’s home clash against St Helens when he will wear the No34 shirt.

The Scotland international has admitted he thoroughly enjoyed his time at Wakefield and working under coach John Kear for a second time after the duo had been together at Hull FC.

But Brough believes he is now ready to see his career kick on under Brown’s in-form Giants.

“It really is fantastic to be here and to have finally made the move I wanted to make,” said Brough, who trained with the full Huddersfield squad for the first time yesterday.

“Everyone knows how much I enjoyed working under John Kear, who’s been great to me and my family for a very long time.

“But I really felt ready for a new challenge and at a new club, and in Huddersfield I know I’ve found the right club.

“When I walked into training for the first time it was with a sense of relief, as well as excitement, because the talks over the move were dragging on and for a time I didn’t know what would be happening.

“But it’s all over now. I’m at the Giants and I’m ready to try and kick on, which I’m sure I’ll be able to do.

“It was frustrating that the move couldn’t have happened before now, but it’s still only seven games into the season and I’m looking forward to kicking on under Nathan Brown.

“One of the main reasons I wanted to come here was to work under him, because I’ve not heard anyone have a bad word to say about him.

“Everyone keeps telling me how good a coach he is, and it’s exciting knowing I’ve now got the chance to see for myself.

“Huddersfield made massive progress under him, and it looks as if every player under him showed an improvement.

“I just hope Nathan can do the same for me and I can play my part in helping this club get even stronger.”
