THE Giants have appointed a second full-time physio for the first time in their history.
Darragh Sheedy is latest recruit to join the ever-growing medical department and links up with new head physio Dave O’Sullivan.
Sheedy’s primary roles are to assist with the players in the new partnership with Batley and focus on the Under 19 set up, while also giving a helping hand to first-team affairs.
The Irishman joins the Giants after working at the Bradford Bulls and admits he is hoping to use his experience to aid the Giants.
“I picked up a lot of experience at the Bulls and I hope I can use that experience in my new role here,” he said.
“I have come into a fresh environment and everyone has been so positive.
“We have a great medical set-up and we have every aspect of the game covered and I am really looking forward to the rest of the year.”
And Giants managing director Richard Thewlis believes Sheedy’s appointment is a further indication of the club’s development.
“For our club its part of the next stage of our progression,” he said.
“Each year we have invested in various elements to improve the club and a second physio is a key move for us.
“Darragh has a great opportunity with us and I look forward to Darragh making a valuable contribution to our future success.”
