GIANTS fans are about to see the strongest squad in the club's Super League history!

That's the proud claim of Ken Davy as his club prepare to open their 2006 Galpharm campaign against Warrington on Sunday.

With the arrival of Robbie Paul, Martin Aspinwall, Stephen Wild, Albert Torrens and Steve Snitch, the Giants have been tipped by many to reach Super League's top six play-offs for the first time.

A victory over the Wolves this weekend would back up that claim, with club chairman Davy confident that target can be achieved.

"Excitement over this match has been building for months," he said.

"We now boast a Super League side that oozes with quality and is looking stronger than ever before.

"Across the board, an enormous amount of work has gone on to continue the success of the Giants.

"What is needed now is for the people of the town and Kirklees as a whole to get behind the team and join us on Sunday in what we believe will be a fantastic afternoon's entertainment.

"From speaking to fans, I know everyone senses this season is going to be something special, and this weekend's game against Warrington is a mouth-watering prospect.

"I'm delighted with how Town are going in League I, and now I can't wait for the Giants to follow suit!"
