HUDDERSFIELD Giants' Senior Academy side are looking to produce a much improved defensive display when they visit Wakefield in their second grading game tomorrow (2.30).

Coach Lee St Hilaire's side opened their campaign with a 44-36 home defeat to St Helens last Saturday.

The Giants were twice in the lead at crucial times, but defensive lapses proved their downfall.

Hopefully lessons will have been learned for what will be a tough trip to Trinity.

The Belle Vue side secured an excellent 39-30 victory at Wigan in their opening fixture, meaning spirits in the home camp will be high.

However, with Giants Super League squad man Jon Grayshon getting back to full fitness following his broken leg, and the likes of Matthew Whittaker and Ben Feehan determined to get back in the top-flight frame there's a lot at stake for Huddersfield.

The Giants have also been boosted by the return of highly talented teenage scrum half Paul Mennell.

The Junior Academy rising star was forced to miss last week's St Helens game with a calf strain.

But he will be back in the fold tomorrow to resume his half-back partnership with the equally outstanding Thomas Hemingway.

Huddersfield Giants: Joyce; Fagborun, Feehan, Senior, George; Hemingway, Mennell; Grayshon, Lythes, Mills, Whittaker, Gledhill, Samuel. Subs (from): Knight, Southwell, Holdsworth, Clare, Robinson, Sutherland.
